Chorong (Apink)

Park Cho Rong better known as Chorong, is a South Korean singer, rapper, lyricist and actress under Choi Creative Lab. She is the leader of the girl group Apink and a member of its sub-units Apink JooJiRong and Apink CHOBOM. She debuted as a member of Apink on April 19, 2011 with the group's first mini album Seven Springs of Apink.

2023: Departure from IST Entertainment, new agency

On April 28, IST Entertainment announced that Chorong, Bomi, Namjoo, and Hayoung decided not to renew their contracts but will still maintain their activities as members of Apink.

On that same say, it was announced that she, alongside Bomi, Namjoo and Hayoung, had signed exclusive contracts with Choi Creative Lab. The agency detailed plans to support both the four members' individual activities and the future of Apink.

Fun Facts and Trivia

Age trivia: Chorong was 20 years old when she made her debut with Apink in 2011.

She stands at a height of 163 cm (5'4'') and an estimated weight of 46 kg (101 lbs).

Chorong was rumored to be dating SuHo, EXO's leader back in 2016. The rumors started spreading after fans saw that SuHo was waiting for Chorong behind stage at a concert. They were seeing talking and laughing. Netizens started noticing they would wear similar clothing and accessories. Neither of them confirmed anything.

She is a 3rd dan black belt in Hapkido and has won several competitions when she was younger, in addition to being very skilled with the nunchaku (which is one of the most traditional weapons in Hapkido).

Her father is a Hapkido master, which contributed to her falling in love with Hapkido and becoming a black belt in this martial art.

Chorong auditioned for JYPE in 2009 along with SISTAR's Dasom and made it to the final round but failed to pass at the end. She then eventually auditioned for her the company where she eventually debuted with Apink.

Her parents own a martial arts academy and her father is a Hapkido master (Korean martial arts). She trained in Hapkido from elementary school until junior high for a total of 8 years. She is a 3rd degree black belt.
