2015: Debut with GFRIEND

Originally using the stage name Sowon, she debuted as a member of GFRIEND on January 16, 2015 with the group's first mini album Season of Glass.

2021: Departure from Source Music, new agency

On May 18, Source Music announced that all members of GFRIEND, including Sowon, have decided to not renew their contracts with the agency. They officially disbanded on May 22 after the end of their longtime contract.

On August 2, it was announced that Sowon has signed an exclusive contract with IOK Company. She will be promoting as an actress under her birth name Kim So-jeong.

2022: Departure from IOK Company, OUI Entertainment

On August 30, 2022, it was announced that Kim So Jeong had officially left IOK Company after deciding not to renew her contract.

On November 15, 2022, Kim So Jeong, under the new stage name Kim So Won, signed an exclusive contract with OUI Entertainment to continue her activities as an actress.
