On July 9, 2021, Minji made a guest appearance on BTS's "Permission to Dance" music video. She was #THE_GIRL for the Plus global audition back in 2019.

On July 21, 2022, NewJeans released a pre-debut music video featuring Minji for their song "Attention", which is a lead single from their debut EP, New Jeans, which release was on August 1.

Minji made her debut with NewJeans on Aug 1, 2022 at the age of 18.

On August 3, she was officially announced as the leader of New Jeans.

She was part of the 2019 global auditions by Big Hit and Source Entertainment. Minji was also the the face for 2019 Global Audition promotional video.

She joined Source Music in her second year of middle school.
