Composition

Promotions
Aespa held a countdown live through their YouTube channel, TikTok account, and Idol Pluss on May 8 at 5pm. During the live, the members communicated with fans, unboxed the album, and spoiled future plans.
Aespa attended M Countdown, Music Bank, Show! Music Core, and Inkigayo during the week of May 8 - May 14, where they performed "Spicy" along with either "Salty & Sweet" or "Thirsty".
Commercial performance
On April 24, SM Entertainment revealed that My World reached 1.5 million pre-orders. On May 8, SM gave an update and revealed that the album had reached 1.8 million pre-orders.
On May 9, Hanteo Chart reported that the album had sold 1,372,929 copies in its first day of release. In one week, the album sold 1,698,784 copies.
As of May 9, My World had reached #1 in 20 different countries on the iTunes Top Albums chart. "Spicy" also reached #1 on the Bugs real time chart.
